First Wig Review And New Cosplay Plans!

Hello again! It's been a while since my last post...

I've been pretty busy with school stuff and my personal life, and to be honest i didn't have any time to think about blogging or anything alike. I still have a few ideas what to post about, and since my newest wig came in the mail i thought id make a review about it! I took some photos with my phone's camera, but it's not the best one so the pics might be blurry/yellow due to the lighting ect. Also my clothes are bad colored (i just put on anything comfortable i found lol) and i don't have makeup on either so please don't call the fashion police!
(Disclaimer; i didn't get paid to do this and it's my personal review!)

The seller was CosplaySalon on eBay. I've bought 3 wigs from them in total, and they have always been great! My first 2 wigs from them came in the same package, but due to the Finland's postal strike last year it took almost a month for them to arrive... The estimated delivery is about 5 days from Britain to Finland. So i didn't get the wigs for the con in time. It was probably my first con without cosplaying? The con was fun nonetheless!
But i have to say that their prices aren't the most budget friendly, since one wig costs about 25 euros. This wig cost me 27€ in total with shipping. It's pretty reasonable that the prices are higher, since the shop is in Britain tho.
Here's the seller's pic of the wig. My wig looked exactly the same!

This is what the package looks like unopened!
The first thing is that i really like their packaging choice. It's like a thick aluminum foil or something alike? I'm not sure what material it is, but it's still cool and protects the contents too!

Ahhh, a fresh wig straight outta the bag!
My first impression was that the colour what a slightly more gray than in the seller's photos? It's possible that my room's light sucks and changes the colour a bit. I don't have any pictures in outdoor light since it's REALLY cold in Lapland, almost -30 degrees and tbh my first idea would never be to hurry outside and freeze with my wig on to take a few pics of it. (Sorry!)

Now out of the second bag!
Actually, if you count the wig came in 3 different bags. The postage bag, CosplaySalon's fancy aluminum bag and finally the wig's own plasticbag. *insert a bag meme here*

Now for the pics where my horrible natural face will scare the possible readers (jk)
Smile Precure is my guilty pleasure

In the pic i already cut the bangs, since they weren't cut ready. Honestly i HATE cutting wigs, because i always cut wrong and then i cry. This time the only bad thing was that i cut them oblique (i'm not sure if that's the right word?) Fortunately i can just move the wig a bit and it looks like they are straight. Curse you 1cm which went wrong!!
Also, the bangs look funny in the pic since i haven't styled them at all. My head looks like a perfect circle with the wig on....

In my last post about my Närcon cosplay plans, they have changed a little bit. Now my plans are still the Choir Umi, but i will make Alter Saber later this year since i can't get worbla in time for Närcon. Also SenbonZakura Luka is a huge question mark since i'm pretty sure i can't make the cosplay in time. So Choir Umi and Vanilla H from Galaxy Angel are my current sure cosplays for Närcon Vinter and for reserve i have the Love Live school unifrom. (I should make a new post about this!)
My plan is to use one of the clips on the back and straighten the curls to be more like Vanilla H's. Luckily the wig is coloured more like her hair is in the anime version! First i thought about making the visual novel ver of Vanilla but after binge watching the whole anime i'm more fond of the anime Vanilla. And the visual novel Vanilla doesn't carry Normad around so i really want to make the anime version, since Vanilla HAS to torture carry Normad! I actually bought a licensed Normad plushie from YahooJapan and now i'm waiting for it to arrive.

The only thing left is to cut the bangs more "wispy" or whatever it's called in English. I just need better shears for it. I'm scared ill cut them wrong again and destroy my wig ;_;

Ill definitely post more (and better) pics when i get a better camera and go outside. Well, when i get pics of my Vanilla cosplay then you can finally see the wig better! (Edited tho and not like the original look but still)

Overall id give this wig a score of 8/10.

Next time i will make a review of my new Umi Sonoda wig. It was a little disappointing but that's the story of my next post! (Maybe ill get better at reviewing things after a few posts... who knows)

Laavalapsi out!

Närcon Vinter 2016 Cosplay Plans!

Hello again~
My second post will be about my Närcon plans! I'm REALLY hyped for this con, as it my first "abroad" con (Finland and Sweden are literally connected so it's not so far away lol). But overall it will be about 1300 km to Linköping from Rovaniemi by car! How am i going to survive? By playing MonHun of course! And sleeping, because there will always be the day before con rush and sleepless nights...
All thanks to our carpool group it's possible for me to go to Närcon, otherwise i'd never go to southern Sweden alone, since ikea gives me a bad headache as is, haha (I can read and understand Swedish but my speaking skills are so horrible that no one would understand me *sobs*).

Now for the best part, my cosplays! I've had a really hard time deciding what cosplays ill do at Närcon and these are my current plans (which might change but i'm pretty sure that they won't);

First off, Umi Sonoda christmas v2/choir version from Love Live
Look at that smile! That angelic and fluffy outfit!  This is my aesthetic...
Actually, i was going to cosplay Kotori's version of this outfit, but Umi's version just won my heart. There's just that thing i love about fluffy and white outfits, i'm not even sure about what makes me so attracted to this set! Eli's outfit has a lovely collar, which makes me kinda sad that Umi has a bare throat (that would never be acceptable if they would wear these outfits in winter!) So now i'm planning on using a very simple white turtleneck shirt under this dress, since there's no way id go bare necked outside in winter (i can hear you crying, elitists).
The angel wings are super cute too, and overall this costume is going to be so adorable!
But now for the cruel truth...
I actually bought this costume from eBay, since i found one that wasn't too expensive. The materials would have cost me too much and the hems would be very hard to make, not to mention the snowflakes. (You can stop crying now).

Now that all of you have lost faith in my cosplay making skills, moving on...

The most badass servant ever

Alter Saber! I surely mentioned in my last post that i love Sabers, right?
Since i played Fate/Unlimited codes i've been wanting to make her armored version. I did a very, very failed attempt on cosplaying Arthur's armor version 2 years ago, and boy, was it horrible. Now that i have gained much more experience and knowledge about making decent cosplay armors, i might just pull this off. The only real problem is that i might not be able to get Worbla for this in time for the con, but if that happens, then ill just cosplay Alter Saber's casual version! (Don't worry, i don't mean those closet cosplays or anything).
I'd like to make Excalibur Morgan too, but my primary goal is to make the armor first, then the sword if i have time. It would be kinda lame to cosplay her in her battle armor without a sword, but it can't be helped if i can't make the sword in time, since my worbla resources would be limited (worbla is expensive for a student budget!).
Nero and Arthur are on my cosplay list as well, and i might someday consider making Lily Saber too.
I want to make every Saber possible hnnnnghh 。゚( ゚^∀^゚)゚。

Next on the list is a extempore cosplay i just decided i'd make!

Luka Megurine's version of Senbonzakura! I've wanted to make a Luka cosplay for a while now and this design is really cute, and it's not too hard to sew! The only "hard" things would be the leaf patterns but those will be pretty easy too, as they aren't very elaborate. Maybe the worst part is the shoes, but ill find a way to make those (all the cosplay shoes are too expensive imo).

Ahh, i just want to order the wig already and go to a fabric store to hunt some nice fabrics for this!

Lastly, my reserve cosplays are Kotori Minami's school uniform version, or Alter Saber's casual version.
Kotori's uniform was a xmas gift from my boyfriend, and Alter's casual dress is a few years old cosplay i bought, too. (Shameful, i know. But i didn't know how to sew back then so i ordered it).

I'm really excited, and at the same time reaaally nervous about my cosplays and this trip. Will everything go as planned?
  ヽ( ̄д ̄)ノ

There's only one way to make this contrip a cosplay success, and it's to start making the cosplays asap! Ill post about my fabric hunts and other stuff, but i gotta end this here because it's almost 4am in Finland! See, cosplay destroys my sleep once again...

Introduction for the win!

Hello! ヽ(*・ω・)ノ
I'm Laavalapsi (MagmaKid in English), currently i live in Northern Finland and i've been cosplaying since 2012, if i remember correctly.
For a long time now i've wanted to start blogging about cosplays, and well of course, my merch loots from Japan (cough i'm a hoarder cough).
This blog will be about cosplay, anime figures and other merchandise reviews, con traveling, random rumbles and occasional gaming. I'm also studying to become a seamstress, so it really helps my cosplay "career".
(Pfft, what career) 。゚( ゚^∀^゚)゚。
My English isn't the best, but i hope you can forgive my typos...

I'm actually kinda new to blogging since i've been just lurking some blogs and not blogging myself (excluded my weeaboo blogs from many years ago... We don't talk about those). The only blog i've been using is my instagram, but it's not actually a cosplay blog but rather a Love Live trash blog lol.

My friend ShiroSamurai helped my set up this blog so i  could finally start with blogging! So check his blogs for great content!! (*゚▽゚*) (hehehe).
I still don't have a banner but after a photoshoot or two i could make something up maybe...

There might be something else to say, but i suck at introductions really. After school starts again i will become more active and have photos of my cosplay progress and other stuff. I'm really excited to start figure reviews, as i have a pretty nice collection of not-so-expensive figures hoarded in my shelf (student budget ftw!) I have a special altar for Saber from Fate, i really love Arthur, Alter and Nero <3

Also, keep an eye on my future Närcon posts! After this ill start brainstorming a good post about my plans for Närcon Vinter.

Närcon budget more like
So yeah... This WILL actually become an interesting and a fun blog after i just get a hold of the "blogging feel", and hunt down my old but working camera. (I bet ill have like only 8 people following me by the end of this year lolololo).
